Spectacular Beauty on the Edge of the World
About Applecross

Our B&B is close to the village of Applecross, and is situated on the Applecross Peninsula, where the beautiful and imposing surroundings give the impression that it sits on the edge of the world.

The Bealach na Ba (pass of the cattle) into Applecross is one of the highest mountain passes in Britain, and is part of the North Coast 500 Route. For those who prefer a less demanding drive, the scenic coast road from the North brings you into Applecross from Shieldaig and Torridon.

It’s worth noting that all roads in and around Applecross are single track so journeys take a little bit longer. Mobile phone coverage is patchy once you are in Applecross.

From the doorstep of Shell Cottage there are numerous beautiful walks to secluded beaches, mountains, rivers and lochans. Native wildlife and birdlife are in abundance. With access to the great outdoors from our doorstep, there is plenty for everyone to see and do.
